Anthony Davis, D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves are out against the Warriors

The Lakers' final preseason game will hardly resemble a warm-up game for the regular season. Although it was already known that LeBron James would be out for the game, JJ Redick announced before the game that the entire starting lineup would be out.

In addition to Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura and D'Angelo Russell, Dalton Knecht and Max Christie are game-winning players.

So much for it being a game to watch.

This was hardly unexpected. Aside from it being the second night in a row, the Lakers were playing their third game in four nights. It's just a bizarre game plan for a number of reasons, and all signs point to this being the game the Lakers attacked effectively.

Hachimura missed Thursday's game with a calf strain. However, Redick does not believe that this will mean he will no longer be on the roster at the start of the regular season.

With at least the first five players out and potentially seven players in the nine-man rotation, expect a hefty dose of players at the end of the bench.

The only guaranteed players in the rotation are Gabe Vincent and Jaxson Hayes. After that, there are likely to be many minutes left for Jalen Hood-Schifino, Bronny James, Maxwell Lewis and Lakers legend Quincy Olivari, among others. There may even be minutes for newcomer Grayson Murphy.

While it will still be important minutes for these players, for the Lakers it will be little more than a developmental game before the start of the regular season.
