Lionel Messi scored five goals as Argentina beat Bolivia 6-0 in front of their home fans

Messi's magic was on full display at the Estadio Mas Monumental on Tuesday evening.

The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner put on a show for Argentine fans around the world, providing two assists and scoring a hat-trick in a 6-0 win over Bolivia in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying.

With five goals, he was the star of the evening and showed why many around the world consider him the GOAT.

The Inter Miami talisman scored the first goal to make it 1-0, taking advantage of a defensive error by Bolivia in the 19th minute of the game. He then set up the second goal, a pass from Lautaro Martinez after Messi had driven past both central defenders in the penalty area. The third goal, a goal from Julian Alvarez, came from a quick free kick from the MLS star, which hit the Atlético Madrid striker in stoppage time in the first half to make the score 3-0.

After a series of substitutions, La Albiceleste added a fourth goal in the 70th minute through former Atlanta United player Thiago Almada, who came off the bench with elan. The last two goals of the game, in the 84th and 86th minutes, both came from Messi, who secured his hat-trick in stunning fashion.

The 37-year-old shot into the goal with his weaker right foot and placed his second goal of the game in the bottom right corner of the net. To complete the trifecta, he played a brilliant one-two with Nico Paz before firing the ball in a tight window to make it 6-0.

With the win, La Albiceleste remains at the top of the CONMEBOL World Cup qualification table with 22 points from 10 games played.
