Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan scores TD in loss to West Virginia

Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan scored a touchdown in Saturday's 31-26 loss to the West Virginia Mountaineers.

It was the first since his four-touchdown performance in Week 1.

Trailing 31-13 in the fourth quarter, Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita threw a 34-yard pass right into McMillan's hands, cutting the Mountaineers' lead to just 12 points.

In the Wildcats' 61-39 Week 1 win over the New Mexico Lobos, McMillan set Arizona's single-game record with 304 receiving yards en route to four touchdown receptions.

Since then he has been kept quiet and failed to score in any game until Saturday.

In Saturday's loss, McMillan recorded 10 receptions for 202 yards and a touchdown. It was McMillan's first 200-yard game since Week 1.

Fifita finished the day 21 of 31 for 294 yards and two touchdowns.

A slow start for the Wildcats

The Wildcats struggled to get out of the gates and trailed around the clock early in the third quarter as mishaps occurred early in the first quarter that slowed the momentum early in the game.

The Wildcats slowly fought their way back and made it a five-point game with 4:35 to play.

However, Arizona was unable to get the ball back as West Virginia drove down the field and time expired, leaving the score at 31-26.

The former No. 20 Wildcats have lost four straight en route to a 3-5 record.
