“Back to the Future” star Lea Thompson criticizes ex-Dennis Quaid for his Trump support: “Stop the stupid people”

Dennis Quaid's ex-fiancée has reacted to the actor's appearance at Donald Trump's campaign rally on Saturday (October 12) in California.

Lea Thompson, who appeared in the film as Lorraine Baines-McFly Back to the future Trilogy, dated and was engaged to Quaid between 1984 and 1987.

Thompson responded to a video about Quaid's X at the Coachella rally, writing, “I was engaged to him,” along with a confused face emoji.

She included the hashtags: #VoteBlueToStopTheStupid and #crimeisactuallydown.

In the video, Quaid was shown saying: “Are we going to be a nation of law and order?” Or wide open borders? Which is it? Because it’s time to choose a side.”

“He stands up to people and that makes him a leader,” the actor said. “You know, people might call him an asshole, but he’s my asshole.”

He continued: “I really feel like he's working for the American people. That’s what he’s all about and I believe that to be true and sincere.”
