Boise State volleyball loses game against SJSU due to trans athlete speculation

The Boise State women's volleyball team has announced it will forfeit Saturday's game against San Jose State, as BJ Rains first reported at Bronco Nation News.

SJSU has reportedly had a trans athlete play for the women's volleyball team since the 2022 season.

CBS2 received the following statement from the university: “Boise State Volleyball will not play its scheduled game at San Jose State on Saturday, September 28th. In accordance with Mountain West Conference policy, the conference will record the game as a forfeit and a loss for Boise.” State. The Broncos will next face Air Force on October 3.”

BSU has not confirmed that the loss is in response to the trans woman on the SJSU team, nor has it answered further questions about the decision.
