Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Germany: Lineups, team news, (many) injuries and more!

With Bayern Munich currently suffering, perhaps the international break came at the right time. Now fans can watch Germany suffer for a nice change.

Okay, maybe that's a bit too negative – Germany actually plays good football these days. However, Julian Nagelsmann is in a bit of an injury crisis due to the absurd schedule that these national players have to endure. It's not exactly ideal when the new season has only started for a few months.

Team news

A number of key first-team players are missing, but highlights include Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz, David Raum and more. Kicker got his lineups spot on last time, so we trust them again this time:

Some notes on the XI:

  • Serge Gnabry will return to Germany after almost a year of absence from the squad. He has been in good form with Bayern this season, although his last few games haven't been particularly outstanding (which is true for the entire team).
  • The fact that Nagelsmann still doesn't want Aleksandar Pavlović in the starting line-up is a little strange, as he is currently relying on a double line-up in the defensive midfield of Robert Andrich and Pascal Groß. Germany could benefit from Pavlović taking on the role Toni Kroos played at the European Championships, but the coach currently prefers a different approach.
  • Alexander Nübel should start in the national team for the injured Marc-Andre ter Stegen. If he is really to be Manuel Neuer's successor one day, he has to convince at the national level.
