Britney Spears' former boyfriend Paul Soliz is in divorce court.

Nicole Mancilla, who has been married to Soliz, 38, for eight years, cited “irreconcilable differences” in a legal filing to separate, TMZ first reviewed on Wednesday.

According to the outlet, Mancilla asked the court for legal and physical custody of the five minor children she and Soliz share, noting that she was willing to set a visitation schedule with him.

Mancilla asked Soliz for spousal support, the outlet reported, and asked the court not to award him spousal support. The legal documents state that the couple married on March 22, 2015 and separated on June 29, 2023.

Dailymail.com reviewed legal documents Mancilla filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and revealed that she and Soliz are parents of five children ranging in age from two to 17.

Documents Soliz filed in Los Angeles court on Sept. 12 indicated he was seeking a restraining order against Mancilla's mother, Sandra Smith.

Soliz alleged in the petition that Smith behaved in a manner that caused him fear and anxiety; and during an exchange on September 9, he had stopped his daughter from returning home with him and his sons.

Soliz said he initially contacted authorities but ultimately left his daughter with Smith after she “threatened to lie to police and have him arrested.”

In court documents, Soliz said Smith should be ordered to stay away from his four younger children, calling her “manipulative and toxic” and claiming she has a documented history of such incidents.

Soliz also told the court that Mancilla was “unable to care for our children” due to mental health and substance abuse issues.

Soliz also apparently presented to the court a series of text message exchanges he allegedly had with Mancilla depicting the conflict between them over their alleged substance abuse problems, with references to self-harm.

The relationship status between the Grammy-winning singer, 42, and Soliz remained unclear, as the Toxic singer said on social media in July that she was “single as hell” but was seen with her at Soho House in Malibu later in the month him.

Spears was seen with some of his children at Sky Zone in Thousand Oaks, California, a trampoline park, as recently as August.

Soliz initially worked as a handyman and caretaker at Spears' home in Southern California before they became romantically involved. He was with Spears at an incident at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles last May, where paramedics were called about an outburst.

Mancilla told Dailymail.com on May 6 that Soliz was the father of nine children and was struggling to support them financially, sarcastically referring to him as “the EBT Nick Cannon.”

Mancilla said the Los Angeles Department for Child Support Services pursued Soliz for back child support.

Mancilla, who lives with her mother Smith in Sylmar, California, said Soliz “does not support any of his children” – comments that Soliz called humiliating in his petition to the court.

Smith said, “They have a one-year-old together and he doesn't even pay attention to that one either.”

She added: “He’s a deadbeat father. It's difficult for me because he doesn't support a single child.” And they are at my house.

Everything seemed to be back on track for the pop star and her sons, who visited and chatted frequently last summer.
