Caitlin Clark is temporarily removed from her seat on the sidelines by a fan during Game 2 against the Sun

UNCASVILLE, Connecticut — A fan sitting courtside during Wednesday night's second game was briefly escorted from his seat after Fever rookie Caitlin Clark reported him to officials.

During a dead-ball period following a Fever foul, Clark walked up to the officials and pointed to someone sitting in the second row courtside. Mohegan Sun Arena security quickly went to him and escorted him from his seat to the back of the stadium.

While security escorted the fan out, Clark spoke with veteran Sun guard DeWanna Bonner, who had drawn the foul. Bonner and Clark had already become belligerent during the game when Clark felt Bonner had not given her enough room on a three-point shot.

This time, Bonner's statement caused Clark to immediately walk away, shaking his head.

“I was focused on what was happening on the field and on my four other teammates,” she told ESPN after the first quarter about her fighting spirit so far.

At the same time, the Fever contested the foul call because they felt it was called against the wrong player. The foul was ultimately successful and changed to Lexie Hull.

When the meeting was over, the fan had returned to his seat.
