Caleb Williams has his best game as the Bears earn an easy win over the Panthers

Caleb Williams made the Bears happy for drafting him today. And the Panthers wish they had been the team that drafted him instead.

Williams was outstanding from start to finish today in Chicago as the Bears earned a victory over the Panthers.

The Bears took Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft – a pick they got from the Panthers after trading the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to Carolina so the Panthers could draft Bryce Young. Young has played so poorly that he's now the Panthers' backup, and he's never looked as good as Williams did today.

Young came into the game for some unnecessary reps at the end of the game, long after it was out of reach, as Panthers coach Dave Canales tried to give Young some live game action in a situation where the game was already over.

The win improves the Bears' record on the season to 3-2 and was Chicago's eighth straight win at Soldier Field. The Bears are still underdogs in a highly competitive NFC North, but they have to be happy with how things are going.

The loss leaves the Panthers only 1-4, making them one of the worst teams in the NFL. Maybe so bad that they get the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and hope they find a better quarterback than Young.
