Mintyukov scored with a wrist shot from the left circle to give the Ducks a 3-2 lead at 16:52 of the second.

The Ducks couldn't capitalize on a 5-on-3 game that lasted 1:09 early in the third period, and Utah scored soon after on a wrist shot from the slot in transition by Kesselring to make it 3-3. Equalizer at 5:21.

“We just have to get the pucks to the net, it has to be a little easier,” Kesselring said. “We have a lot of skill, we want to make plays, but sometimes we have to hold back a little and put the pucks in the net.”

Clayton Keller scored with a close-range backhand off a pass from Schmaltz to give Utah a 4-3 lead at 10:50.

“They thrive on turnovers and transitions,” Zegras said of Utah. “We knew it was going to be a bit like a track and field meet. We tried as best we could not to play a track and field meet, but they are so young, talented and fast that you just have to respect their speed and stay inside and just play hard.”

Zegras said the Ducks didn't go down after falling behind.

“We played well,” he said. “I thought we were going to shoot the puck to the front of the net and use the back of the net to find people in the gap.”
