Chargers sign Dicaprio Bootle and Shaun Wade; Activate Sam Mustipher and Jalen Reagor

The Los Angeles Chargers signed today CB Dicaprio Bootle And CB Shaun Wade to the active roster from the practice team. Los Angeles placed itself in a corresponding move DB Deane Leonard on Reserve/Injured. The bolts were also activated CSam Mustipher And WR Jalen Reagor for Monday's game.

Since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2021, Bootle has spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs and Carolina Panthers. He has started two of 16 career games for the Chiefs and Chargers, recording 19 tackles (16 solo), two pass breakups and six special teams tackles. Bootle saw the most action of his career last season with the Panthers, appearing in eight games and making two starts, contributing 11 tackles (all solo) and two pass breakups for the Carolina defense.

Bootle played four seasons (2017-20) at Nebraska and saw action in 44 games. He recorded 110 tackles (70 solo), one interception and two forced fumbles for the Cornhuskers, starting the final 32 contests of his career. Bootle was a team captain in his final season at Lincoln, Nebraska, was named third-team All-Big Ten in 2018 and was the team's defensive back of the year in 2018 and 2019.

Wade entered the NFL in 2021 as a fifth-round pick (160th overall) out of New England and appeared in 20 contests for the Patriots over the past three seasons. Last year, he saw the most action of his career when he started six of 14 games played, recording 23 tackles (21 solo), one pass breakup and two tackles for a loss. Wade played college football at Ohio State University, serving as team captain and earning consensus All-America honors in 2020. That year, he became the program's first player ever to be named Tatum-Woodson Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year. Wade was a two-time All-Big Ten honoree, including as a first-team selection in 2020. In his three seasons (2018–20) with the Buckeyes, Wade appeared in 35 games and recorded 91 tackles (67 solo tackles). , including two sacks, six interceptions, 19 passes defended and a pair of forced fumbles.

Since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2019, Mustipher has started 44 of 54 career games with the Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers, including one postseason start in 2020. He was the Bolts' starting right guard in Week 4 of that season after being called up from the practice squad. Mustipher started all 17 games with the Bears in 2021, while he started 16 of 17 games with Chicago in 2022. Last season, he contributed to nine games for the Ravens, making two starts on a line that blocked quarterback Lamar Jackson's win in his second Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player Award.

Mustipher appeared in 47 games over four seasons (2015–18) at the University of Notre Dame, finishing his career with 36 consecutive starts at center for the Fighting Irish. While in South Bend, Indiana, he helped Notre Dame to three bowl games and served as team captain in 2018 when the team finished the year ranked No. 5 in the nation with a 12-1 record.

A 2020 first-round pick (21st overall) by Philadelphia, Reagor has started 25 of 56 regular season games for the Eagles, Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots. He completed 79 passes for 937 yards (11.9 average) and four touchdowns while recording 100 rushing yards on 19 carries (5.3 average). In two postseason appearances, Reagor has started and hauled in a two-yard reception.

A native of Waxahachie, Texas, Reagor played three years (2017-19) at TCU and ultimately earned second-team All-America recognition as a punt returner in his final season in Fort Worth, Texas. He saw action in 39 career games for the Horned Frogs, recording 148 receptions for 2,248 yards (15.2 average) and 22 touchdowns, as well as 324 rushing yards and two scores on 35 attempts (9.3 average). Reagor returned 23 punts for 409 yards (17.8 yards average) and two touchdowns, both recorded in 2019.
