Chris Bumstead wins sixth classic physique title at 2024 Olympics; Announces retirement from bodybuilding

Chris Bumstead claimed his sixth Classic Physqiue Olympia title before announcing his retirement from professional bodybuilding. The top bodybuilder, also known as CBum, dominated the preliminary and final stages in Las Vegas, Nevada, adding another title throughout his career. This added even more time to the man who was already the longest reigning champion in the division's history.

Chris Bumstead first took the Olympic stage in 2017. That year he finished second behind then-champion Breon Ansley. He also finished second the following year in 2018 before starting his dominant run since 2019. Since that win in 2019, Bumstead has become a figurehead in bodybuilding. And now he has announced his resignation. “The Last Dance,” Bumstead captioned his latest Instagram post.

However, CBum has assured his fans that he will remain associated with the sports and fitness industry in the future.

“This may be the last time you see me up here on this stage, but you will still see me,” he said.

Chris Bumstead, in particular, has become one of the most recognizable faces in the sport. The reason for this is his performance at the Classic Physique “O,” where he earned more wins than any other athlete in the history of the division.

Chris Bumstead isn't the only champion to step away from the Olympic stage over the weekend. In addition to CBum, eight-time Olympic champion Cydney Gillon also ended her career after her victory.
