Christian McCaffrey, Ricky Pearsall Updates provided by Kyle Shanahan – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

The 49ers are not opening the practice window for rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall this week for a very obvious reason.

San Francisco will not have a high-speed practice this week as they prepare to face the Seattle Seahawks in a quick turnaround on Thursday night at Lumen Field.

Coach Kyle Shanahan said in a conference call with Bay Area reporters Monday morning that Pearsall will continue to undergo physical therapy while remaining on the reserve/non-football injured list.

“Just because we don’t practice or anything,” Shanahan said.

Pearsall suffered a gunshot wound to the chest during an armed robbery on August 31. He appears to be on the verge of a return to action.

Meanwhile, running back Christian McCaffrey will also remain on injured reserve and will not be available for the team's game on Thursday.

McCaffrey has not played this season due to Achilles tendonitis in both legs.

“(McCaffrey will) continue his rehab,” Shanahan said. “Every day you try to push the rehab further and further.”

The 49ers are expected to hold tryouts for four free-agent kickers this week after Jake Moody suffered a sprained upper right ankle and is expected to miss several games.

Shanahan said he doesn't know who the kickers are that the 49ers want to host at the team facility in Santa Clara.

Safety Talanoa Hufanga suffered a wrist injury in the 49ers' 24-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and did not return in the second half. Shanahan had no update on his status.

Linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (calf) is not expected to be available for Thursday's game against the Seahawks, while receivers Jacob Cowing (shoulder) and Chris Conley (oblique) are listed as available daily.

Defensive lineman Yetur Gross-Matos, whom the 49ers placed on injured reserve Saturday, underwent knee surgery and is expected to miss four to eight weeks, Shanahan said.
