Christian Pulisic is unstoppable: USMNT winner and loser from Mauricio Pochettino's debut win against Panama

The AC Milan star is terrorizing defenses on two continents, with Saturday serving as a final reminder of how good he is

There was a lot of talk about tactical improvements following the U.S. Men's National Team's win over Panama. Rightly so. Mauricio Pochettino is now the man in charge and from Saturday the new US coach made his presence and ideas clear.

For all its intricacies and tactical debates, sometimes football is really, really simple. For the USMNT, winning games often comes down to a bold strategy: Give the ball to Christian Pulisic and watch him make magic.

On Saturday he made more of it in the 2-0 win. His assist to Yunus Musah was a connection made in Milan when Pulisic assisted on his clubmate's first USMNT goal. The smile on Musah's face was a mile long. Pulisic's could perhaps have been even bigger.

That's the kind of vibe Pulisic is bringing with him right now. When you play at this level, things tend to go your way, and when that happens for Pulisic, the USMNT is a completely different team. Pochettino will know this as well as anyone: for this team to be successful, they will almost certainly need their star to be… well, a star.

Pulisic proved again on Saturday that he is. He will try again on Tuesday against Mexico. And based on what we've seen over the last month, it's worth wishing for El Tri Happiness. You will need it.
