Clark is the first rookie to make the All-WNBA 1st team since 2008, joining unanimous selections Wilson and Collier

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Rookie guard Caitlin Clark added another accolade to her outstanding first season, earning All-WNBA honors on Wednesday.

The Indiana Fever guard was the first rookie to make the team since Candace Parker made it in 2008. She is the fifth rookie ever to receive this honor, joining Sue Bird, Tamika Catchings and Diana Taurasi.

Las Vegas Aces forward A'ja Wilson and Minnesota's Napheesa Collier were unanimously selected to the first team. Breanna Stewart from New York and Alyssa Thomas from Connecticut completed the positionless five-member team.

Wilson, who was unanimously voted MVP by the league, earned a spot on the first team for the third consecutive season and fourth time overall. Collier, a three-time All-WNBA team, was selected to the first team for the second consecutive season.

Clark received 52 first-team votes and was featured on 66 of the 67 ballots submitted by a national media panel. She averaged a league-high 8.4 assists per game, as well as 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. She led the league with 122 3-pointers and helped the Fever reach the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

New York featured three of the 10 players on the two teams, with Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones receiving second-team honors. They were joined by Kahleah Copper of Phoenix, Nneka Ogwumike of Seattle and Arike Ogunbowale of Dallas.
