'Congress has to lose, party didn't lose in Haryana elections': Jairam Ramesh says 'system was abused'

NEW DELHI: The victory in Haryana Assembly Elections was snatched from the Congress party and the system was abused, MP Jairam Ramesh said on Tuesday, adding that the party was forced to lose but it “didn’t lose.”
With the BJP appearing to hold on to Haryana, the Congress once again blamed the system and the government EVM machine for their election defeat.
Addressing the press conference, Jairam Ramesh said, “Whatever analysis we need to do on Haryana, we will definitely do it. But first we have to send the complaints coming from different districts to the Election Commission. What we did.” What we didn’t do, what we did wrong, there will definitely be an analysis. A committee will also be formed, this is the practice in the Congress party and the analysis will be done after consultation with everyone Now is not the time for analysis. The most important thing at the moment is that victory has been taken away from us, the system has been abused. The feelings of the people and everyone felt that the basic reality was for a change, but the result of what has come today does not reflect that. There will definitely be an analysis.

“As far as the Haryana result is concerned, our first priority is to collect and consolidate all the complaints received from candidates across the three districts today. There will be further complaints and we hope to present these to the Electoral Commission tomorrow evening or the day after.” . That is our immediate priority. We will of course think about why the result in Haryana turned out the way it did. I think all I can say is “Congress has not lost in Haryana and you haven't heard the last about Haryana,” the Congress MP said when asked about the Haryana polls.
In the Haryana elections, trends showed that the ruling BJP crossed the majority mark in the Haryana Assembly by 6 pm, while the Congress won 33 seats and was leading by 4 seats.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders also spoke about it Elections in Jammu and Kashmir and expressed their dissatisfaction with their party's performance. Jairam Ramesh recalled that the Congress party came first in the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra.
“In Jammu and Kashmir, we hope that an NC and INC alliance government will be formed soon, a joint program will be prepared and we will make all efforts to fulfill the expectations of the people…,” he said.
He further added, “There will of course be a coalition government in the Jammu and Kashmir chapter. And as I was saying till yesterday, various attempts have been made to ensure that the majority will not come from the Congress-NC coalition but from the coalition.” The people of Jammu and Kashmir have given a very clear mandate to this coalition government. “
Congress leader Pawan Khera, who was also present at the press conference, said a “historic” election was held in Jammu and Kashmir after a gap of 10 years.
“I congratulate the people of Jammu and Kashmir for participating in this election with great enthusiasm and giving a befitting reply to those who left no stone unturned to trample on the dignity of Jammu and Kashmir. They took away and created the status of a full-fledged state.” It was in itself unexpected that it was a Union Territory. he said.
