Cucho Hernandez scored a goal and provided an assist in the second half to help the host Columbus Crew beat Orlando City 4-3 and end the Lions' three-game winning streak.

Max Arfsten had two assists for the Crew (16-5-8, 56 points), which is 4-1-1 in its last six games.

They almost squandered a three-goal lead against Orlando (12-11-7, 43 points), which scored two goals from Luis Muriel.

Diego Rossi (30th minute), Christian Ramirez (51st) and Hernandez (71st) put the Crew in the lead before Orlando caught up.

Ramiro Enrique scored in the 74th minute after Ivan Angulo's shot rebounded against the post. Three minutes later, Muriel converted a penalty to make it 3-2 after Yaw Yeboah fouled Angulo.

Hernandez set up a pass for Aziel Jackson to score a crucial safety goal in the 85th minute, and Muriel reduced Orlando's deficit to 4-3 with a strike from outside the box in the second half of extra time.

The Crew took a 3-0 lead after Hernandez Arfsten scored his 15th goal with a great pass from the right flank, tying the most goals for his team.

With Columbus playing a busy schedule, Hernandez came on for Rossi early in the second half for the second straight game. Hernandez scored a goal and provided an assist in the final 45 minutes of the 2-0 win at Toronto FC on Wednesday.

The first 45 minutes were back and forth, but only Rossi was able to score, as he did in Orlando on May 25, when he scored the goal that gave them a 2-0 win.

Orlando kept the Crew under control until Martin Ojeda lost possession. The Crew took advantage and Rossi's shot from the edge of the box deflected off Orlando defender Robin Jansson. It was his eleventh goal of the season.

It was the first goal Orlando allowed in four games after winning the previous three games by a combined score of 8-0.

Ramirez doubled the score with a header from 5.5 metres out. Jackson slipped through the defence and found Arfsten on the left, who crossed to Ramirez, who has already scored eight goals.
