Denver Broncos WR Josh Reynolds was injured in a shooting

On the morning of October 18th, the Denver Broncos wide receiver was Josh Reynolds was injured in a shooting after leaving a strip club, according to 9News. According to court documents, Reynolds was shot twice, once in his left arm and once in the back of his head.

Two other men were also reportedly injured. One of them was shot in the back and the other suffered injuries from shattered glass. All three men had abrasions from climbing over a fence.

At around 3 a.m. local time, police initially received a call about a shooting in the area. Then a second person called and reported that two of his friends had been shot and that he was being followed. A third person also called and claimed they had been shot.

“Before the shooting, the victims said they were at Shotgun Willies, a strip club in Glendale, but left around 2:45 a.m.,” 9News' Janet Oravetz wrote. “According to court documents, they reported that there were no problems at the club.

“As they drove away, two drivers in vehicles followed them and shots were fired, court documents state. They reported to police that the suspects continued to follow them once they got onto the highway. When they reached there, they said the vehicle was no longer running and ran away.”

On Wednesday, police announced they had arrested Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza in the case. Mendoza is said to have been at the strip club the night of the shooting and followed Reynolds and his two friends out of the club as they left.

However, Charlesworth and Mendoza may not have been alone, as a total of three cars were seen following Reynolds and his friends. After his arrest, Charlesworth reportedly told investigators that he was “helping” a friend who had asked him to follow the victims due to a previous conflict.

Unfortunately, Charlesworth declined to provide further details about the other vehicles. Charlesworth claimed he never shot Reynolds or the other two injured men.

Josh Reynolds is currently on injured reserve due to a broken finger, but as of this report, the Broncos have not issued a statement on the shooting. Reynolds played in the first five games of the season for the Broncos, recording 12 receptions for 183 yards and a touchdown.

Despite missing the last two weeks, Reynolds is the team's second-best receiver, behind only Courtland Sutton. On Sunday, the Broncos take on the Carolina Panthers at 4:25 p.m. ET.
