Did Sabrina Carpenter play a role in the prosecution of New York Mayor Eric Adams?

According to the New York Post, pop singer Sabrina Carpenter may have inadvertently played a role in the indictment of New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Carpenter used a Brooklyn church as the backdrop for her controversial “Feather” music video, and the Diocese of Brooklyn was so appalled by the production that it demoted Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello, who approved the filming, sparking an investigation that may have uncovered a series of misdeeds uncovered possible crimes.

The racy music video shows men committing bloody suicide over Carpenter before she is seen at the church altar in a little black dress.

According to the Post, officials subpoenaed the church last week and demanded information about the church's business dealings, which reportedly led to the mayor. Diocesan officials did not comment specifically on the controversy surrounding the “Feather” music video, but said in a statement to the Post that “it would be inappropriate to comment further on this ongoing review.”

The Post reported that diocese officials also alluded to the federal investigation that implicated Gigantiello and Adams' ex-chief of staff Frank Carone: “The diocese is fully committed to cooperating with law enforcement in all investigations, including this behavior in individual parishes or with such priests.”

At an appearance at New York's Madison Square Garden on Sunday evening, Carpenter reportedly boasted that the mayor had been indicted. So far, no comment from everyone involved.

Adams is accused, among other things, of making more than $10,000 in illegal donations by using false certifications to exploit the city's matching funds program, which provides generous matching for small dollar donations. He is also accused of working with a high-ranking Turkish official who “facilitated many straw donations” for Adams and arranged for Adams and his companions to receive free or discounted travel on Turkey's national airline to destinations such as France, China, Sri Lanka, India and Hungary received , and Turkey.
