DK Metcalf injury: The Seahawks' star receiver suffered an MCL sprain against the Falcons

Let's hope this is just another time DK Metcalf was carted off the field for nothing serious.

The star wide receiver left Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons in the second half after rushing for 99 yards, a TD and a pretty hard land out of bounds.

The prognosis is a mild MCL sprain, which is potentially good news for the Seattle Seahawks.

With 568, Metcalf has accumulated the second-highest number of receiving yards in the NFL this season. He was vital to new coordinator Ryan Grubb's offense, perhaps more than ever. The chemistry between him and Geno Smith is almost a must when they take on the division-leading Buffalo Bills next week.

Two years ago, Metcalf was sent off the field for reasons that proved urgent but not catastrophic.

A grade-1 knee sprain hurts, but Metcalf has the potential to play soon, possibly as early as next week. Certainly his goal is to get away in a row and not miss any time.
