“Edgy Meets Essential with Gap's Cult Gaia Collaboration”.

Gap and cult Gaia? It's the dynamic duo we didn't know we needed – until now. Gap, known for its unwavering durability and best-selling essentials, has teamed up with LA-based brand Cult Gaia for a 35-piece women's clothing collection. Jasmin Hekmat, founder of Cult Gaia, explains how she finds common ground in intention and wearability fashion that the collection “represents a beautiful intersection of two worlds that most wouldn’t believe fit together.” Like so many others, she says she grew up with the brand. “It was a staple in my wardrobe from childhood to adolescence. Having the chance to bring the Cult Gaia touch to these nostalgic pieces feels like a full-circle moment.”

Iconic Gaia pieces are created as works of art functional enough for everyday wear, while Gap knows a thing or two about everyday wardrobe essentials. The collaboration brings Hekmat's nuanced approach to a wider audience, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, hardware, stitching and pieces that feel special yet practical. All 35 items, ranging in price from $35 to $500, will be available starting this Thursday, October 10, at 12:00 p.m. ET / 9:00 a.m. PT on Gap.com and select Gap stores.

With both brands iconic in their own right, Hekmat wanted to bridge the gap between them, combining Cult Gaia's signature artistic designs with Gap's classic, relaxed American aesthetic. “I wanted to create pieces that appeal to a wide range of customers and offer a new interpretation of classic designs that are well known but reinterpreted in a way that only Cult Gaia can offer,” says Hekmat. Iconic high-rise jeans with chain detail on the left pocket; Trench coats were reimagined with cargo pockets and trousers were crafted from the brand's signature chocolate brown leather.

Within this collaboration you will find a further fusion of the two. A crisp white shirt with a cut-out back; a cropped cable knit cardigan, draped blouses with sculptural hardware, the sensuality of the split denim midi and a fluffy faux fur coat ideal for winter in the city. The accompanying campaign, shot and directed by sisters Louise and Maria Thornfeldt, stars model and actress Tina Kunakey alongside Kristina Byerley, Kelly Lim, Irene Law and Christen Rhule.
