Elon Musk said on Sunday he plans to improve his security measures after a left-wing German magazine called him an enemy of the people.

Musk held a town hall debate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Sunday in support of former President Donald Trump's candidacy. While speaking to the crowd, Musk commented on the heated political atmosphere as the country approaches November's presidential election.

He noted that he was recently on the cover of Der Spiegel, which called him “Public Enemy No. 2” — the first being Trump.

“I think enemy number 2 of what? Uh, democracy? I mean, I'm pro-democracy. “I’m literally trying to uphold the Constitution and make sure we have free and fair elections,” Musk said, drawing applause from the crowd.

“I'm definitely improving my security measures. I guess I better cancel the open float parade,” Musk said, appearing to reference the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

SpaceX's CEO said he was “a little shocked” by the “level of vitriolic hatred on the left.”

“They claim they are tolerant. And yet they are incredibly intolerant and spread hate,” Musk said. “Whereas I see people on the right who tend to view people on the left as, well, misguided. But they don’t hate them…but the amount of hate coming from the left is like, wow, next level.”
