Elon Musk's X and Trump reportedly highlights Republican hypocrisy on Hunter Biden's laptop

A New York Times report on Elon Musk's fervent support for Donald Trump's presidential campaign contains a bombshell detail that undermines the right's conspiratorial claims about Hunter Biden and anti-conservative bias on social media.

Conservatives have been grumbling for years about so-called federal government collusion with Big Tech, which they baselessly claim was a factor in Trump's loss in 2020. Republicans say these are the internal decisions of some social media companies to moderate conspiratorial content Data — some of it pornographic — dubiously retrieved from Hunter Biden's old laptop amounts to a full-blown conspiracy.

It doesn't matter that this alleged collusion with the government took place under the government Trump administration – Right-wingers have fully embraced the false claim spread by Elon Musk.

But according to the Times, the Trump campaign and Musk's social platform X have recently behaved remarkable similar to what conservatives have been crying about for years. According to the report:

The relationship has also proven significant in other ways. After a reporter released hacked Trump campaign information last month, the campaign contacted X to prevent links to the material from circulating on the platform, according to two people with knowledge of the events. X ultimately blocked links to the material and suspended the reporter's account.

The Times' anecdote is about independent journalist Ken Klippenstein's controversial suspension from (The Times' report has not been independently verified by MSNBC or NBC News.)

Since we are talking about Republicans and they have already shown their great hypocrisy when it comes to Musk's program, I am sure that the conservatives who control the House of Representatives will not hold hearings on Musk and Trump like they did to spread false allegations about Hunter Biden's laptop.

But what the Times reports is far more outrageous.

Twitter wasn't in the bag for any particular candidate in 2020. Musk's And the Times seems to have just revealed a way Musk and Co. are manipulating the platform to help Trump win.
