England player ratings: Verdict on Nations League defeat against Greece | England

England 4-2-4

Jordan Pickford (TW) With a scary moment in possession of the ball, he spread panic early on and continued to fight. Had no chance at Greece's goals. 4/10

Trent Alexander Arnold (RB) He kept turning but his positioning meant Greece had space as they broke through down the left. The passing also went wrong. 4

John Stones (CB) He captained the team in the absence of Harry Kane. Beaten by Vangelis Pavlidis as first striker. Lack of match sharpness. 4

Levi Colwill (CB) The central defender heroically cleared after Pickford's mistake. This was followed by some important blocks and tackles. Busy night. 5

Rico Lewis (LB) Drifted inside and popped up in some good positions. Had his hands full defensively and got into confusion before Pavlidis' winning goal. 5

Declan rice (CM) Because England field too many attacking players, they have to count on too many runners. Overwhelmed in a confusing night. 4

Cole Palmer (CM) Wasted in a deep role. Why let him defend himself? Greece passed through England. Palmer also slept before Greece's third disallowed goal. 4

Bukayo Saka (RW) Unable to come into play and attack Dimitris Giannoulis. Arsenal fans will be annoyed that their winger is limping. 5

Phil Foden (AM) Lost in a free role. He saw little of the ball and was careless when he had it. Remains a mystery. 4

Jude Bellingham (AM) Palmer had a chance, but the experiment with him in an advanced role didn't work. Scored the undeserved equalizer. 5

Anthony Gordon (LW) Ineffective. He rarely beat his full-back and his end result was disappointing despite having no target to hit. 4

Subs

Noni Madueke Rest after replacing Saka. Soon moved to the left. 5

Ollie Watkins With his first touch of the ball he shot just wide. Should have started. 6

Dominic Solanke Replaced Foden as England ended with two strikers on the field. Set up Bellingham. 6
