England's speedster leaves Pakistan tour midway to get married | England tour of Pakistan, 2024

Stone did not play in the first Test and is not a central contracted player for the ECB. Therefore, he left the tour midway to get married

England fast bowler Olly Stone will leave the team's tour of Pakistan midway and fly home to get married. He would fly out on October 9 (Wednesday) to get married over the weekend, ESPNcricinfo reported.

Stone, who is not a central contracted player with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), said that he had booked his wedding before being selected for this tour and since he was not selected in the first match, he decided to go ahead with the tour plans to proceed.

“We booked the wedding because I was only playing for Notts at the time. Jess said she was happy to move the wedding and I insisted on keeping it where it was if possible. “For what she gave up and sacrificed for me, I thought the least I could do was try to make it work,” Stone had told the BBC.

Joe Root, who claimed that he had to postpone his wedding three times due to various tours, also wished Stone good luck and said that the team would celebrate the pacer's wedding.

“It's a special time in everyone's life. I'm happy for him. I'm sure he's completely overwhelmed with everything that's going on, but it will be very special for him – and his wife – to start a different chapter.” In his life, we will all be with him at some point pour cold water over them and celebrate.
