Expert predictions and final analysis for the Week 6 matchup

JACKSONVILLE – Each week during the 2024 season, the Jaguars' “experts” – Tony Boselli, Frank Frangie, Jeff Lageman, Brent Martineau, John Oehser, Brian Sexton, JP Shadrick and Kainani Stevens – analyze the Jaguars' matchup the following day.

Tony Boselli, Jaguars analyst and former Jaguars left tackle

• The Jaguars will win if: They establish the run early to take pressure off Lawrence and the passing game. The Bears have one of the better pass defenses in the NFL, so being one-dimensional won't work. Defensively, the Jags need to put Williams under pressure. When he has time he is very effective but likes to hold the ball.
• The Bears will win if: They protect Williams and allow him to get comfortable in the pocket. The Bears offense struggled when the quarterback was under pressure, leading to turnovers and negative plays. Defensively, they have to take away the Jaguars' running game.
• As Boselli sees it: This will be a tough, close game. The Jaguars are coming off their first win of the season and should come to London feeling confident. Jaguars 24, Bears 21.

Frank Frangie, radio voice of the Jaguars

• The Jaguars will win if: They are sticking with the formula that gave them their first win last week. The deep throws to Thomas and wide receiver Christian Kirk are there. And they lead to careers for Bigsby and Etienne. Lawrence was great – he found a rhythm. The key is to keep it going.
• The Bears will win if: THey, stay hot too. Williams was very good last Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. This could be a duel between two young talents. And Moore is the Bears' answer to Thomas.
• As Frangie sees it: Both teams gained some confidence from their performances last week. Both can throw it around. Both are improving on defense. The key may be that most Jags players are familiar with the trip to London, while Bears players are not. That could make the difference in a close game.

Jeff Lageman, Jaguars analyst and former Jaguars defensive end

• The Jaguars will win if: They continue the offensive performance at a high level. Lawrence had a masterful game against the Colts and needs to continue to beat the Bears.
• The Bears will win if: You win the sales battle. Williams has defended the ball well over the last two weeks, and if he continues to do so, they will continue to win.
• As Lageman sees it: It's a tough game with two former No. 1 picks coming out on top. Williams excels in his ability to extend plays and will put a strain on the Jaguars' defense. After the late-game collapse against the Colts, the Jaguars defense needs to get a better handle on a few things. The Jaguars' offense must once again perform at a high level to achieve this goal

• The Jaguars will win if: You gain time of possession. They haven't done that yet in 2024, and while the explosive plays have been good, this could be a game with continued momentum. The Bears were poor at stopping the run. So if the Jaguars can do that successfully, they should control the pace of the game and get the win.
• The Bears will win if: they score 24 points or more. Chicago's magic number was actually 21 points for most of last year. Defenses typically don't allow more than 21 points, so if they can put some points on the scoreboard, the Bears will be in a good position. The Jaguars have allowed an opening touchdown in four straight games.

• As Martineau sees it: It's hard to pick this game, but let's consider the trends. The Jaguars may have found something last week and we all know they should be better than 1-4. The Bears are good but not great and are also missing some key players on defense while the Jaguars are bringing back tight end Evan Engram. The Jaguars do enough and win for the seventh straight year in October, 27-22.
