Fantasy Football Rankings Early Week 7 (2024)

play

The 2024 NFL season continues to be a whirlwind for fantasy managers.

In Week 6, Sean Tucker was the RB1. Gabe Davis, Romeo Doubs and DeMario Douglas were the top eight receivers. Cole Kmet was the TE1, and yet the biggest surprise at tight end might have been Mark Andrews, who went into the top three.

Week 7 is now upon us.

Here's a look at my Week 7 fantasy football rankings. Switch between standard, half PPR (points per reception), and full PPR to see where players rank in your league's format.

Our USA TODAY Sports team has you covered with plenty of content to help you make Week 7 lineups and roster decisions. Wondering who the best waiver wire claims are? We've got that covered so you can make your pickups. Do you want to know which players you can give up? We have that too. We also have a list of the top 10 Buy Low/Sell High candidates.

Please note: These rankings will change significantly throughout the week. Check back Sunday morning for final updates.

Week 7 fantasy football quarterback rankings: movers and shakers

  • UP: Baker Mayfield – Through six weeks, Baker is fantasy's QB2, and that includes five top-7 performances in six games. He'll be going up against a Ravens defense that gives up the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks.
  • UP: Drake Maye – The rookie finished his first NFL starting game as QB9 against the Texans. This week he faces a Jaguars team that gives up 3.4 more fantasy points per game to quarterbacks than any other team in the league.
  • UP: Bo Nix – Led by an intriguing rushing floor, Nix quietly finished as a top-13 quarterback in three of his last four games.
  • BELOW: CJ Stroud – Using his elite weapon, Stroud managed to throw three touchdowns against New England in Week 6, but he was still only rated as QB13. He has only scored higher than QB13 once in his last five games. The Packers have given up the eighth-fewest points to signal callers since Week 1.
  • BELOW: Patrick Mahomes – Coming from last year, the two-time MVP finished as QB14 or worse in 10 consecutive games. As long as the Chiefs continue to win, there will be no reason for Mahomes to speak out the way he has had to in past seasons.
  • BELOW: Deshaun Watson – Let's face it, Watson looks like an idiot on a stick on the football field. From a fantasy perspective, after being a top-18 passer through the first four weeks, Watson has missed back-to-back QB24 assignments despite having delicious matchups. He's combat proof in the worst possible way.

Week 7 Fantasy Football Running Back Rankings: Promoters and Decreases

  • UP: JK Dobbins and Kimani Vidal – Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman Really like running the ball that puts their backs in the game every week. In Week 6, Dobbins finished as the RB11 with a whopping 27 touches, and Vidal finished as the RB19 with just six touches in his NFL debut. Both should find success against a Cardinals front that cedes the second-most rushing yards to opposing backfields.
  • UP: Chase Brown – In his last three games, Brown has posted RB5, RB12 and RB17 completions while averaging 14.7 touches per game. His counterpart Zack Moss only had seven touches against the Giants and didn't sniff the ball after a fumble in the third quarter.
  • UP: Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols – In 2024, the Panthers will give up 3.6 more half-PPR points per game to opposing running backs than any other team in the league. Ten Defenders have already scored at least 11.5 total fantasy points against them, including six in the last three games. If Brian Robinson Jr. is out, both Ekeler and McNichols are worthwhile starts.
  • UP: Raheem Mostert – Regardless of whether De'Von Achane plays or not, Raheem Mostert is worth a standout in Week 7. Against the Pats in Week 5, the veteran rushed for 98 yards on 21 touches. Given Miami's current offense, this performance deserves accolades. He will face a Colts team that gives up the fifth-most rushing yards to opposing backs in 2024.
  • BELOW: Najee Harris – In Week 6, Harris finally broke his scoreless streak, albeit against the Raiders. A huge matchup with the Jets awaits you in Week 7.
  • BELOW: Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker – With Rachaad White sidelined in Week 6, both Tampa running backs had the best games of their young careers. However, a duel with the Ravens awaits them in Week 7. Baltimore is giving up the fewest yards per carry and the third-fewest fantasy points to running backs this season.
  • BELOW: Ty Chandler – Assuming Aaron Jones misses out (maybe not), Chandler will be a popular streaming option, but expectations need to be kept in check. Since the start of 2023, no team has given up fewer fantasy points to running backs than the Lions.
  • BELOW: Zack Moss – As mentioned in Chase Brown's blurb, Cincinnati's backfield appears to be slipping away from Moss. In Week 6, he reached a season-low of seven touches. He belongs on the fantasy benches until further notice.

Week 7 fantasy football wide receiver rankings: movers and shakers

  • UP: Drake London – Since Week 1, London ranks first in the NFL with 51 targets. He is the fantasy WR3 during this stretch.
  • UP: Tank Dell – In Houston's first game without Nico Collins, Dell led the way with a 30% target share. The result was a 7/57/1 line, good for a WR15 finish. The Texans will need him to keep up with the Packers in Week 7.
  • UP: DeMario Douglas – In Drake Mayes' debut, Douglas led the Patriots with a 27% target percentage. He finished the game as the fantasy WR8, posting a career-high 92 receiving yards. He plays in the top 30 against a Jaguars secondary that gives up the second-most fantasy points to wideouts.
  • UP: Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson – Dontayvious Wicks suffered a shoulder injury in Week 6, leading to an increase in snaps and targets for Doubs and Watson. Both ranked in the top 20 wide receivers and are in the flex conversation for Week 7.
  • BELOW: Brandon Aiyuk – In six games, Aiyuk has no top-10 performances and five finishes at WR40 or below. Yikes. A tough matchup with Kansas City in Week 7 doesn't improve his prospects.
  • BELOW: Michael Pittman Jr. – The news that Anthony Richardson will start in Week 7 is a real downer for Pittman managers. In three complete games with Richardson this season, Pittman finished as WR61, WR71 and WR64. Not great, Bob.
  • BELOW: Rashid Shaheed – The first game without Derek Carr wasn't ideal for Shaheed, who only managed one reception for 11 yards on seven targets. To make matters worse, he gets a matchup with the Broncos in Week 7.
  • BELOW: Christian Kirk – In Evan Engram's first game back from injury, Kirk scored his fewest balls (three) since Week 2. The 27-year-old ranked fourth on the team in goals.

Week 7 fantasy football tight end rankings: movers and shakers

  • UP: Evan Engram – Engram tied with Brock Bowers for the most targets at the position in Week 6, catching all 10 looks for 102 yards. In a year when productive bottlenecks are hard to find, such volume is impossible to ignore.
  • UP: David Njoku – Speaking of volume, Njoku's target share of 30.4% last week ranked first at this point. While Cleveland's offense is a hot mess, Cincinnati has given up 162 yards and three scores to tight ends in the last two games.
  • BELOW: Pat Freiermuth – The 25-year-old has conceded just six goals in his last two games and has finished TE13 or worse in all but one competition. It appears that the seven-goal effort against the Colts was an outlier.
  • BELOW: Mike Gesicki – Gesicki didn't score a single goal in Week 6 and has only three appearances in his last three games. He's safely off the streaming radar unless there's an injury to Ja'Marr Chase or Tee Higgins.
