Farnhamville murder investigation underway | News, Sport, Jobs

A Criminal Investigation Department officer has confirmed that a person is in custody in connection with the death of a 17-year-old girl from Farnhamville.

The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office was called to Farnhamville Town Park on Sunday evening for a report of a missing girl. At that time, officers arrested a male suspect.

After further investigation, law enforcement authorities found the young woman's body this morning.

DCI and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office have stated that “There is no ongoing threat to the public.”

The detained suspect has been charged.
