Final preparations for the Big Fresno Fair 2024 are underway

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Vendors were at the Fresno Fairgrounds on Sunday preparing for the opening of this year's Big Fresno Fair.

Some had to work in the sun, others were lucky enough to be indoors.

“Drink water, try to keep the kids hydrated, they're venting, and of course it's not triple digits right now, but we're drinking a lot of water,” said Anna Herrera of the Parlier Lions Club.

According to Herrera, FFA students are putting the finishing touches on the community exhibit.

Once completed, it will have taken more than 400 hours to complete.

The exhibit is one of several that visitors will be able to see once the Big Fresno Fair opens its doors on Wednesday.

From new food vendors to new rides, organizers are excited to be back at the fairgrounds.

“We can’t wait to bring you all to this year’s fair,” said Christina Estrada, interim CEO of the Big Fresno Fair. “We’re excited to open the doors and for everyone to come and have a great time.”

Estrada says they understand that times are difficult for families, so they are offering special offers throughout the fair.

“Three dollar bites. On Thursday, October 3, from 2 to 6 p.m., some of our participating concessionaires will be offering ugly food that fairgoers can enjoy for $3,” said Estrada.

According to Estrada, there are admission discounts at FoodMaxx and Save Mart.

And there are season pass discounts at O'Rielly's.
