“Force of Nature” Christina Eagle wins her The Voice Battle

Christina Eagle and Gail Bliss came to The voice through very different paths. Eagle is a 23-year-old aspiring singer who had a single bowel movement in the final moments of her blind audition by Coach Snoop Dogg, while Bliss is a 61-year-old flight attendant who wants to prove that she still has what it takes to make it it in the music business who made it through the blinds thanks to Snoop's Coach replay button.

To tick all of those boxes, Snoop brought Eagle and Bliss together for a cover of Gretchen Wilson's wild country hit “Redneck Woman,” encouraging both singers to find a personal connection to the lyrics and the song's larger message, namely be who you are not no matter what. After what seemed like a very entertaining rehearsal period, it was time to take the stage.

The Season 26 battles got off to a loud start thanks to Eagle and Bliss, who got the crowd clapping and dancing, the coaches singing along, and raising the roof so high that Snoop couldn't be held up from his coach's chair. The coach ended up dancing around the studio for most of the song, and when the song ended, coach Reba McEntire began by praising both singers.

“I loved it,” McEntire said. “Absolutely entertaining, you made Snoop dance. Way to bring the party to town.”

McEntire continued: “Christina, you are a force of nature, your voice was really up there, and Gail, you had more low end. You're almost like sisters up there singing and having fun, so.” ..Good luck, Snoop.”

Coach Gwen Stefani also praised both artists, but singled out Eagle as the clear favorite and was the only coach on stage to single out Eagle as the winner.

“I look at Christina and I can’t believe you’re not signed,” Stefani said. “You’re incredibly good. You can't teach someone personality, charisma or stage presence.

Ultimately, it was up to Snoop to make the final decision, letting his team go first.

“Let me look you all in the eye and tell you that I really love what you bring to the table,” he told Eagle and Bliss. “The energy that you all brought, the sisterhood, the things that you all talked about, being there to make everything feel like a whole and not 'I'm competing with you.'” And I love you all for that , and the decision I have to make will break my heart.

In the end, as Snoop emphasized so often during the blind auditions, his decision was based on potential energy.

“My decision is based on what I think has the most potential for growth in this show,” he said. “Still, the winner of this battle is Christina Eagle.”
