Four PGA Tour players did something on the first day of the Black Desert Championship that hadn't happened all season | Golf news and tour information

The PGA Tour's newest venue, Black Desert Resort, is a big unknown for most golfers this week. But that didn't stop the guys from posting extremely low scores in Thursday's first round in Utah.

Adam Svensson led the way with an opening hole of 60. And when asked if he would flirt with 59, he said he didn't even know he had a chance because he thought it was a par 72 instead of a par 71. Oh well . Maybe that was for the better.

As the RESORT part of the name suggests, looking past the spectacular views and lava fields, this golf course was definitely designed to be a resort golf course. And that generally means generous fairways and greens. And the statistics definitely prove it.

As Twenty First Group stats guru and content director Justin Ray pointed out, four golfers managed to hit every fairway and green in regulation in the first round. That's a perfect 14 out of 14 and 18 out of 18 when keeping score at home. In contrast, Ray said, this statistical feat didn't happen once on tour all season.

Pretty wild. Well, not wildly, because these guys are all so accurate, but you get the point.

Ray further points out that Henrik Norlander, who shot 62, was one of those four players. And that while it was his first tour of the property, this wasn't the first time he'd done the following:

That's an impressive list. Of course, the Swede would rather trade all that for something else on Sunday: a first PGA Tour title.
