Get ready for an incredibly wonderful time: October 2024 events in Utah

10th-14th and 17-21. October

Snowbasin Resort's first annual Haunted Basin. Have a spooky time with a haunted forest, scary movie screenings and festive food and drinks. Each evening, family-friendly events and activities take place from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by immersive festivities from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets for the Haunted Basin are $25 per person with free entry to the event at Earl's Plaza and Earl's Lodge. Tickets for the Haunted Basin Family Hour (6-7 p.m.) are $10 for children ages 4-12 and $15 for ages 13 and older.

Premier Pass holders receive $5 off their ticket purchase. Pre-registration is not required.

October 11th

2024 Witches' Evening included in the price. This free event is presented by Downtown Price on Main Street. Food will be available for purchase and local businesses will host sales and giveaways. There will also be a witch hat competition. Takes place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

October 12th

2nd Annual Fall Bark presented by Dog Training Elite SLC. The event takes place in Fairmont Park at the Sugar House and features a variety of activities throughout the event, as well as vendors, demonstrations, prizes, costume contests, photo ops and more. This is a free event for dogs and dog lovers. Dogs should be on a leash. Takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

October 12th

LiveDAYBREAK Ginormous Pumpkin Regatta. This is the 13th annual Ginormous Pumpkin Regatta. Come in your wildest costume and your most innovative cardboard boat design to challenge other participants on the lake. The cardboard boat races are in addition to the giant pumpkin races and there is food, dancing, a petting zoo and more. The lake is located at 4698 W South Jordan Pkwy, South Jordan. Events begin on the north coast. Register online.

October 12th

Dia de los Muertos in Ogden. Join us for this vibrant celebration that honors Latin American culture and community with a variety of events and activities. There will be a main community altar and a Golden Bark Foundation pet altar. Enjoy music, dancing, Ari Ramirez and her Prancing Horses, a car show and more. Held at the Ogden Amphitheater, 343 E 25th St., Ogden.

October 23rd

Utah Stories storytelling competition. Share the most terrifying moment that shook you to the core. The contest will be held at Dali Crepes, 1346 Fort Union Blvd. instead of. in Cottonwood Heights and begins at 7 p.m. The top three stories will win a $50 gift card to Ruth's Diner, Caffe Molise or BTG Wine Bar. Pre-registration is required and can be accessed using the QR code in October's Utah Stories magazine.

October 26th

Antelope Island Bison Roundup. The roundup takes place at Antelope Island State Park on Antelope Island and is an important tool to ensure the continued health of the Antelope Island herd. No registration is required for the viewing public. Spectators will watch as hundreds of riders round up the nearly 700 bison around the island and take them north to holding pens. Riders begin at 9 a.m. at Fielding Garr Ranch. Visitors can watch from the east side road and the final push into the hurdles from a viewing area in White Rock Bay. Chairs or blankets are recommended as the huddle can take hours.
