“Green Day” was banned from radio stations in Las Vegas after Billie Joe Armstrong insulted the city

What an American idiot.

Billie Joe Armstrong was banned from Green Day by two Las Vegas radio stations after he insulted the city at a recent concert.

The 52-year-old singer expressed his anger over his favorite baseball team, the Oakland A's, moving to Las Vegas while performing at Oracle Park in San Francisco on September 20.

“We won't let people like John f-king Fisher, who sold the Oakland A's to Las f-king Vegas, turn us down,” he said on stage, according to a video from the concert.

“I hate Las Vegas. “It’s the worst in America,” he added as the audience cheered.

John Fisher, 63, is the owner of the A's. The team is moving to a new ballpark in Las Vegas after being based in Oakland, California since 1968.

Following Armstrong's comments, two different radio stations in Las Vegas announced that they had stopped playing Green Day music.

KOMP 92.3 wrote on Instagram: “KOMP 92.3 has removed every Green Day from our playlist. It’s not us, Billie, it’s you. #vegas4ever.”

The post featured a large red warning sign over the faces of Armstrong and his bandmates Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool.

X 107.5 announced on their website: “Well, Sin City heard him loud and clear – and X107.5 didn't,” the statement said. “In response to Armstrong’s inflammatory statements, the station is banning all Green Day music effective immediately.”

“Considering he played a pop-up show at Fremont Country Club last year, we are surprised by his comments. The show was spectacular! But now Armstrong has crossed a line with Las Vegas locals,” the statement continued.

Carlota, a host at the station, added in another statement: “Perhaps he should take a look at the city and the people involved in this transaction instead of talking about the city of Las Vegas.” And hey, I hate to say that and stuff.” As shit as the Raiders may be, when they were in Oakland they were worth a billion or two. Now they're worth six. It was a good business decision and the A’s want some of it and I don’t blame that.”

The Post has reached out to Armstrong's representative for comment.

Amid the drama, the “Holiday” singer posted a tribute to the A's on Instagram last week.

“Playing in the sand with my Oakland A’s hat on,” Armstrong wrote alongside a throwback photo of himself as a child, around age six.

“The Athletics’ departure from Oakland is devastating,” he continued. “I feel for all the fans and the people who will lose their jobs because of greed. Three sports teams have left Oakland in the last five years, leaving a cultural void in the hearts and sports of the East Bay. “I believe Oakland will come back from this.”

Armstrong continued: “I will always remember taking the train to Del Norte Bart Station to the games. Some of my favorite memories. My 4th grade teacher always had the radio on in class so we could hear if Ricky Henderson was going to break the stolen base record. He did it. Family friends, crazy George Billy Ball… This hurts.”

In August, Armstrong posted a video of himself destroying the A's logo on the wall at the Toronto Blue Jays' stadium.

He covered the logo with green spray paint and wrote a “B” over the “A.”
