“Hanford Dixon isn't holding back Deshaun Watson's career with the Browns”

When the Cleveland Browns lost their contest to the Las Vegas Raiders last weekend, several issues emerged for the AFC North squad.

For once, none of these were Deshaun Watson's performances.

The quarterback finished the game completing 24 of his 32 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown and ran eight times for 32 yards when needed.

Although he acknowledged that Watson played better against the Raiders than in the previous 2024 regular season contests, Browns big Hanford Dixon wasn't happy with the team ending with a loss on Sunday.

On The Hanford Dixon Show this week, the titular host didn't hold back his thoughts on Watson's time in the Cleveland uniform, telling his viewers that the team didn't get the player they expected.

“When we signed Deshuan to the $230 million contract, we expected a guy with explosive plays and a high-scoring offense; So far, that just hasn’t happened,” Dixon said.

Dixon elaborated on Watson, explaining that the veteran signal caller “played well enough that we won” against Las Vegas, but the analyst also recounted all of Watson's stats during his time with the Browns.

In 16 games for Cleveland, Watson has thrown just 18 touchdowns to 12 interceptions, a number that Dixon said was “not great.”

Cleveland introduced a new offense in the offseason and preseason, deploying more three- and four-receiver sets so Watson could get the ball into the hands of playmakers in space.

Through four games, the offense has been anything but explosive, amassing just over 246 yards of offense in each game.
