High temperatures began to prevail this weekend and fall weather was on the horizon

Record-breaking October temperatures continue Friday and much-needed relief is just around the corner.

FRIDAY: Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies in Las Vegas with high temperatures reaching 96 degrees this afternoon.

Friday's forecast high would break the previous record of 95 degrees, which was last set in 1991.

A light breeze will be blowing from the south this afternoon at 5-15 mph, with wind gusts around 25 mph this afternoon and early evening.

Air quality is “good” this morning and pollen levels remain “low.”

FRIDAY NIGHT: Skies will change from mostly cloudy to mostly clear overnight, with low temperatures in the Valley dropping to around 68 degrees.

Winds will be light from the southwest with a speed of up to 10 miles per hour.

ADVANCED FORECAST: Daytime highs will fall into the low 90s under mostly sunny skies through Sunday. Next week we will see further changes in our weather pattern.

Our next weather maker will bring stronger winds and a sharp drop in temperatures through the end of the week.

As of now, valley highs will fall into the low 80s through Thursday and temperatures will continue to fall into the 70s through NEXT Friday and Saturday.

Temperatures are expected to quickly rise back into the low 80s as NEXT weekend comes to a close.
