Hoda Kotb is left speechless and crying live on air as the confused co-host asks, “What's happening?”

Hoda Kotb experienced a moment she didn't expect during Wednesday's live show.

The host interviewed Jason Segal about his TV show “Shrinking,” and at the end of the chat, the actor — who is also friends with Hoda — talked about her upcoming departure from “Today.”

Just as Hoda was wrapping up the interview, Jason interjected and said: “I’ll miss you when you’re gone.”

She was brought back and placed a hand on her chest, but Jason wasn't finished yet.

He continued: “These interviews were some of the best of my entire career. So I’m really grateful to know you.”

Hoda is leaving today

All Hoda could muster was “Wow” as she teared up. Unable to form a sentence, she simply leaned forward and placed a hand on Jason's leg before saying, “Thank you…Savannah.”

Hoda stomped his feet on the ground to compose himself, but emotions were running high.

As the camera panned to Savannah Guthrie, she shouted, “What's happening over there?”

Savannah and the team will miss her

There will likely be many more moments like this as Hoda prepares to say goodbye to her role on the NBC show.

The veteran anchor has been part of the NBC family since 1998 Today slike family since 2007.

She is leaving to spend more time with her children Haley and Hope, but still plans to pursue a role on the network.

Al recently spoke to HELLO!

“You know, it would be more bitter than sweet if she were to go, go,” Al Roker shared HELLO! recently. “She’s just slipping into a different role.”

What that role is is currently unclear, but things were emotional when she announced she was leaving her anchor seat on Today.

Hoda wants to spend more time with her family

Savannah was particularly sad to see her friend and colleague leave, and later recounted it People: “Well, I would say I was shocked but not surprised because she and I have had many, many conversations about life and what it means to our hopes and dreams and I knew that 60 was a big moment and where she thinks a lot about how she wants to spend the rest of her day, so I wasn't surprised.

Hoda made her announcement on September 26, both on the show and on social media.

Hoda's co-hosts were sad but happy for their friend

Her emotional statement, which she posted on Instagram alongside a photo of her on the morning show, read: “My time at NBC was the longest professional love affair of my life. But only because you were by my side for these 26 years.” Adventure.

“Looking back, the calculation is crazy… Since I will be working until the beginning of 2025, there is still plenty of time to talk about what lies ahead for all of us. But I know one thing for sure at the moment: everything is okay.” Everything will be okay. The Peacock's feathers are never ruffled…No matter who comes or goes TODAY, and its great people – all of you – never waver.

“You always overcome change with grace and courage. Happy and grateful, I plan to remain a part of the NBC family, the longest working relationship I have ever held close to my heart. I'll be there. How could that be.” Not me? Family is family and you will always be a part of me.
