How Rebecca Minkoff Knows the RHONY Cast: “She's Great”

The inner circle has expanded The Real Housewives of New York City.

Season 15 of the Bravo The series premiered on Tuesday, October 1, with a rollicking episode of hot takes, cold takes and introductions from Rebecca Minkoff, who has officially joined the group as a cast friend.

“I’ve heard so many great things,” Rebecca said when she met Ubah.

Ubah knew the Rebecca Minkoff brand. “I know your name like I know Coca-Cola,” Ubah said joyfully. “I’m so excited to meet you.”

Rebecca said the feeling was mutual. And when Ubah noted that she thought Rebecca was very New Yorker, Rebecca replied, “Well, 20 years.” Two decades ago is a long time to make a name for yourself.

As they drank coffee—a large black Americano for Rebecca, a latte for Ubah, and an espresso martini for Erin—the women settled into girl talk.All in all, it was a pleasant first meeting.

“I knew you guys would love each other,” Erin said.

“She’s a good matchmaker,” agreed Rebecca, mother of four.

The topic eventually turned to Brynn Whitfield's upcoming meeting. Erin told Rebecca that she should come along as her date.Rebecca happily agreed, wondering who else would be there and if she would know anyone.

Being in the same fashion universe, Rebecca knew about Jenna Lyons and Sai DeSilva. She would also meet Jessel Taank, Brynn and the new season 15 housewife, Racquel Chevremont, an art curator and model.

At first, all the ladies at the party played nice. But tThe evening eventually took a turn for the worse as simmering tensions between Brynn, Sai and Erin boiled over.

Rebecca, meanwhile, was able to see from the front row how dramatically and quickly the tone can change The Real Housewives of New York City.
