“I love salt!”: Trump does a photo op at the McDonald's restaurant in Pennsylvania

Republican fast food enthusiast Donald Trump donned a black and yellow apron over his white shirt and red tie to serve french fries at a McDonald's restaurant in Pennsylvania on Sunday.

The campaign stunt was intended as a swipe at opponent Kamala Harris, who says she worked at the fast-food franchise when she was younger.

Trump has repeatedly said, without providing evidence, that Harris never worked at McDonald's while in college, an experience she spoke about on the campaign trail.

On Sunday, a restaurant employee patiently showed the 78-year-old Republican how to pack fries into boxes to hand out at the drive-thru window as the media gathered outside for a photo op.

Trump, a notorious germaphobe, marveled at the serving tool used to distribute the fried potatoes without picking them up: “It's clean, it's really nice, you never touch them.”

“I will never forget this experience,” he said as he wrapped up the campaign stop aimed at appealing to working-class voters. “It requires expertise. I’m just going through the french fry stuff.”

“I don’t mind this job,” he continued, at one point asking if customers would ever ask for more salt.
