Insta boss claims authenticity still plays a key role in audience engagement.

(Web Desk) – Instagram has introduced a new feature designed to help content creators, businesses and users with effective posting strategies.

Called Best Practices, this hub is designed to teach professional accounts how to create engaging content and is accessible from the professional dashboard.

The Best Practices Hub offers a range of tips for creating, sharing and monetizing videos and photos.

While some suggestions are comprehensive social media strategies – such as monitoring long-term follower growth and maintaining a consistent posting schedule – others reflect Instagram's current business priorities.

For example, one tip advises users that Reels longer than 90 seconds may not be recommended to new audiences, which is consistent with Instagram's push for short-form content, a stance echoed by Instagram boss Adam Mosseri.

While this guidance could help developers better navigate the platform's algorithms and increase their reach, it also creates a sense of pressure.

Content creators who have long tried to master engagement tactics may find themselves forced to strictly adhere to Instagram's recommendations to avoid reduced visibility.

In particular, the platform's focus on short videos underlines its competitive strategy against TikTok.

This summer, Instagram emphasized that “views” are now a primary measure of success on the platform, highlighting its importance in how creators evaluate the performance of their content.

Another important metric that influences content ranking is the frequency with which users share posts. Mosseri cautions creators against forcing viral content, reminding them that authenticity still plays a key role in audience engagement.
