Iowa High School Football Playoffs 2024: Round of 32 for 2A, 1A, A, 8-player

The Iowa High School Athletic Association released the Iowa High School Football first round postseason pairings for Classes 2A, 1A, A and 8 players on Saturday morning.

The games begin on Friday, October 25th at 7 p.m

There are 32 qualifiers in each class.

Teams qualified by reaching the district standings, with the top four in each district advancing to 2A, 1A and A. The top three in each 8-player district received automatic bids. Fourth-placed Exira-EHK and Tripoli secured at-large places via an average margin system capped at 17 points per district game.

There are no brackets in the playoffs at this point. The 16 winners of the first round will be divided into groups of four next Saturday. The four winners of these groups advance to the state semifinals in the UNI Dome.

There is one week left in the regular season for Class 5A, 4A and 3A teams. Each of these classes has 16 postseason qualifying tournaments. These brackets will also be unveiled next Saturday.
