Speaking in Michigan on Saturday, the former first lady, who has previously rejected calls to run for US president, spoke about her own “debilitating” menopausal problems and warned that women's lives “would be at risk” when Donald Trump returns to the White House.

Obama spoke about how difficult it is for women to understand and care for their own bodies, especially during menstruation and menopause.

“Every month, far too many of us experience excruciating cramps and days of nausea. “As we struggle through menopause, debilitating hot flashes and depression, too many women my age are unaware of what's happening to our bodies,” she added.

Michelle Obama urges men to see women as “more than just baby vessels.”

Addressing men, she urged them to understand women's health concerns and see them as “more than just vessels for delivering babies.”

According to the former first lady, the violation of abortion rights is a sign of dangerous restrictions on women's access to health care.

She went on to suggest that some men might be inclined to vote for Trump because of their anger over the slow pace of progress, but added: “Their anger does not exist in a vacuum.”

“If we don't get this election right, your wife, your daughter, your mother, we women will become collateral damage to your anger,” Obama warned.

Harris comes on stage and says he will fight for the Americans

Obama's appearance at the Kalamazoo rally follows her powerful speech at the Democratic National Convention this summer.

After Obama's speech, Harris took the stage and assured the audience that, unlike Trump, she would consider their needs.

“There is a longing in our country for a president who sees the people, not just looks in the mirror all the time, but sees the people who understand you and will fight for you,” she noted.
