Jaden Jefferson channels Reggie Bush with a spectacular 89-yard kickoff return

Everyone knows Jaden Jefferson is fast.

As a sophomore, he placed fourth in the California Interscholastic Federation state 100-meter dash with a time of 10.40 seconds.

But Jefferson is more than just a blur or a speedster. He's a real football player, even though he's only about 5-foot-10 and weighs 165 pounds.

He showed that once again when he opened De La Salle's 42-14 victory over San Ramon Valley in an undefeated Northern California matchup on Friday by taking the first kickoff and racing 89 yards for a spectacular touchdown.

Jefferson, now a junior, who plays as a hard-hitting cornerback and running back. sprinted down the left sideline, then did his best Reggie Bush impersonation and walked to the other side of the field. He made a few defenders miss and had to turn again to escape another tackle.

It was his second touchdown return in three weeks, after he kicked a field goal that ended a yard short of the goal line and then returned it for a score in a 35-14 win over El Cerrito.

Jefferson also has 16 carries for 196 yards and three touchdowns this season after playing wide receiver as a sophomore.

He currently has six college offers: Arizona, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, UNLV and Washington State. Watch for this number to increase significantly if it continues like this.
