Jameson Williams of the Detroit Lions has reportedly received a two-game suspension for violating PES guidelines

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams faces a suspension. Again.

Williams will reportedly be suspended two games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, according to ESPN's Eric Woodyward.

Williams was also suspended for six games at the start of the 2023 season for violating the league's gambling policy by placing bets on sports at the Lions' facility, but not the NFL. However, the suspension was eventually lifted when the NFL changed its policy. He missed the first four games of the season.

There is little doubt about Williams' talent after the Lions drafted him in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Alabama, but the speedy wide receiver has struggled to stay on the field so far.

He appeared in just six games in his rookie season while recovering from a torn ACL suffered at Alabama, then had a rocky start to his sophomore year due to the game suspension early in the season.

His third year was by far his best year with 361 receiving yards and three touchdowns, but now his progress may be temporarily halted while he serves his suspension.

Williams is expected to miss the Lions' home games against the Tennessee Titans this weekend and a crucial divisional road game against the Green Bay Packers the following week.

The Lions have relied on Williams much more this season after letting wide receiver Josh Reynold walk in the offseason, which opened up a role for Williams as a true No. 2 receiver.

In his absence, the Lions expect more from Kalif Raymond and newcomer Tim Patrick, as well as everything else Amon-Ra St. Brown has to offer, but no one on the team can stretch the field like Williams.

It has not yet been reported what substance Williams used that violated the league's protocols.
