There is currently no information on a release window. What we know for sure is that Arrow recently released a 4K release from 2009 Friday the 13thwhich sold out pretty quickly. Clearly there is an appetite for this sort of thing right now. That makes sense considering Jason has been on screen since 2009, but that's a whole other discussion. It's also important that Marcus clarified that this is actually the uncut version of the film. This version was previously released as part of Scream Factory's Massive Friday the 13th Box set. But this set is Blu-ray and not 4K. Also, it is necessary to purchase a whole set and not just one film.

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday – New Line Cinema

After its release in 1993 Jason is going to hell wasn't a great success. With a budget of $3 million, the film still grossed more than $15 million at the box office, but was the second-worst commercial film in the franchise to that point. Critics and fans also received little positive feedback at the time. However, its reputation has changed somewhat in recent years, with certain fans offering a reassessment of the so-called Last Friday. For those who need a refresher, the film's synopsis is as follows:

“Jason Voorhees, the living, breathing essence of evil, is back for one wild, final slugfest. Tracked down and torn to pieces by an FBI task force, everyone now assumes that he is finally dead. But everyone assumes it's wrong. Jason has been reborn with the terrifying ability to take on the identity of anyone he touches. The frightening truth is that he could be anywhere. Or anyone. In this shocking, blood-soaked finale to Jason's bloodthirsty reign of terror, the terrible secret of his unstoppable killing instinct is finally revealed.

Meanwhile, Jason remains on the sidelines. A24 and Peacock are still working on a retooled version of the Crystal Lake TV series. As for a movie? That still won't happen anytime soon. Although franchise co-creator Sean S. Cunningham recently promised Friday the 13th Fans that “there’s more to come.” We will see what this means in practice in the next few months/years.
