Jim Caldwell's prediction | The first of several fronts brings with it the cold

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Well folks, we've made it to the other side of our first frontal system, and I have to say, it feels rather normal out there today!

This initial blast of cooler air will only bring us highs into the 60s, a refreshing change from the warmth we've been experiencing lately. But don't get too comfortable – this respite is short-lived.

Our next system is already poised to enter the Bluegrass State, and with it temperatures will rise back into the 70s. Yes, you heard that right – we're talking about a quick rebound, thanks to the number two at the top. Enjoy the warmth while it lasts, however, as temperatures will quickly plummet again on Saturday.

Now I know some of you may be looking forward to some precipitation, and while there is a chance of a few scattered showers, don't get your hopes up just yet. As for the rain, we don't see anything significant.

The temperature rollercoaster continues into early next week, with cooler air prevailing Saturday through Monday.

And then, just in time for Halloween, our next big system moves in. This one has it all, with gusty winds, rain and another temperature change. Here's the silver lining: This system represents our best chance of meaningful rain in the forecast.

So mark your calendars, folks – Halloween promises to be a very special weather event!
