Krispy Kreme is giving away free donuts to celebrate joining the McDonald's menu

Krispy Kreme donuts are coming to select McDonald's, but candy lovers everywhere can join in the celebration.

In March, the two brands announced that three types of Krispy Kreme donuts — original glazed, filled with chocolate frosting and sprinkles — would be available for sale at McDonald's restaurants.

Eight months later, the merger finally becomes a reality.

McDonald's restaurants in the Chicago area will begin selling Krispy Kreme donuts on Tuesday, October 15th. This is the first part of a phased rollout at McDonald's locations across the country through the end of 2026.

“This offer is a sweet way to satisfy donut lovers in Chicago as well as fans across the country who are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to enjoy this treat at their local McDonald's,” Krispy Kreme said in a press release.

To celebrate the launch, participating Krispy Kreme stores nationwide are giving away a free Original Glazed Donut to anyone who presents a McDonald's paper or digital receipt dated by October 14th.

“The number one request we receive from consumers is greater access to our delicious, fresh donuts. Having Krispy Kreme Donuts among the Golden Arches is gold to our fans and we are excited to celebrate by giving our guests who also visit a McDonald's a free Original Glazed Donut,” said Josh Charlesworth, President and CEO of Krispy Kreme, in the same press release.
