The AP School Honor Roll, launched by the College Board in 2023, recognizes high schools for meeting performance criteria based on the college readiness of recently graduating seniors.

Schools are evaluated on three metrics: college culture, college credits, and college optimization.

To meet the College Culture Honor Roll requirements, 40% of a graduating cohort must have taken at least one AP exam while in school, and 25% of a graduating cohort must have earned a grade of C or higher on an AP exam in order to this exam to pass the college credit requirement. The college optimization criterion requires that at least 2% of graduates have taken five or more exams in high school, with at least one taken in ninth or tenth grade to ensure balance.

Lake Highlands High School has received a bronze award for the 2023-24 school year, RISD recently announced. LHHS joins Richardson and JJ Pearce High Schools, which received silver awards, on the honor roll.
