Lana Del Rey surprised her fans by marrying her boyfriend Jeremy Dufrene just a month after going public with their relationship.

The 39-year-old “Born to Die” singer first met the alligator tour guide while she was performing in Louisiana in 2019 and took one of his boat tours in town. The couple reportedly got back together in May this year and were spotted holding hands at the Leeds Festival in August.

Del Rey exchanged his vows in a rustic ceremony in Des Allemandes, Louisiana, on the same bayou where Dufrene conducts his airboat tours. She was walked down the aisle by her father Robert Grant in a white dress with whisper ruffles and a bouquet of flowers in her hand.

After the ceremony, Del Rey and the father of three hosted a reception at the public dock in a large marquee, where the “Video Games” singer put a blue ribbon in her hair for her “something blue.”

The Independent has reached out to Del Rey's representatives for comment.

Many fans were stunned by Del Rey's wedding and were quick to express their shock on social media. “Didn’t she meet this man yesterday? What the hell did I miss,” one person asked on X/Twitter.

Meanwhile, another concerned user added: “This is awesome. It was like seeing them together yesterday! Happy for her, but woahhhh.”

However, some fans showed their support for the singer, with one person writing: “This is actually kind of sweet. She could probably date or marry anyone she wants. As long as she is treated well, I hope she is happy.”

In May of this year, the “Summertime Sadness” singer tagged Dufrene in an Instagram post and called him her “guy” in the caption, which raised some eyebrows among fans. The singer and her two siblings were seen posing with Dufrene in the photos. She wrote: “Family with my husband @jeremy.dufrene @codyjay.”

When details about Del Rey's relationship with Dufrene first emerged this spring, a source told the MailOnline: “Her friends and team did a little research on him because they were worried he might take advantage of them, but his business is lucrative and he doesn't need or want Lana's money.”

They added: “He’s a good guy and she’s incredibly attracted to him. He is a good father and no one who knows him can say anything bad about him.”

As a tour guide for Arthur's Airboat Tours in Louisiana, Dufrene is known for guiding tourists through the state's local swamps and wetlands, giving them a glimpse of local wildlife. According to the company website, these include animals ranging from alligators, egrets and egrets to over 300 species of birds.

Dufrene reportedly worked in a chemical factory before becoming a tour guide. He is also the father of two daughters and a son from a previous relationship.

Del Rey isn't the first celebrity Dufrene has spent time with. In 2015 Twister Actor Glen Powell shared an Instagram post showing him and Dufrene on a hovercraft.

He captioned the post: “J-Bone and G-Trash. We are both single and ready to meet. Find us at the Swamp or at the Daiquiris To-Go store next door or on Craigslist Personals. I'm sorry I celebrated. (I’m not sorry).”
