Liam Payne's sister Nicola Pays speaks out after his death aged 31

Nicola Payne breaks her silence towards her brother Liam Payne's death.

“When I saw the message on my phone that you left us, I felt cold, I wanted so badly for this not to be true,” Nicola wrote in a lengthy Instagram statement on Monday, October 21. “I spent days hoping it was a mistake and someone made a mistake. You were truly too good for this earth, you are an angel who lived only to make people smile and be happy. You always showed kindness to everyone you met and that shows how many people confirmed what we always knew!”

She noted that her family didn't have enough family photos (she shared a few snaps in the Instagram post) and wrote that they have always been his “biggest fans.” She continued, “Your talent alone puts you miles ahead, but so does yourself.”

Nicola further noted that Liam has always lived his life by the motto: “Why bother doing something if you're not brilliant at it, and Liam, you've definitely been brilliant at everything you've done.” She added: “Unfortunately, this cruel world is always (too) quick to judge someone based on a few 5-second clips and then think that gives them the right to speak as if they are “We knew you and we loved you.”

Nicola concluded her message by saying she hoped her late brother “has finally found peace up there and that you will continue to take care of all of us as well as you did in life.” She also promised to “make sure “That Bear knows about his father and how much you loved him.” (Liam shared his 7-year-old son with his ex Cheryl Cole.)

Nicola's post included tour pictures of Liam with his One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik And Louis Tomlinson.

Us weekly confirmed that Payne had died on Wednesday, October 16, aged 31. The musician suffered “serious injuries” after falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, according to the head of Buenos Aires emergency services Alberto Crescenti.
