Lindy Waters III's former OKC Thunder teammates are happy about his win in the preseason game

As the NBA begins its 2024-25 preseason, Lindy Waters III was one of the first big moments.

With a floppy play on a half-court inbound pass, Waters III had enough room to hit the game-winning 3-pointer from the right wing in the Golden State Warriors' 91-90 preseason victory over the LA Clippers.

His teammates harassed the 27-year-old. He impressed in his preseason debut with the Warriors, scoring 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting from 3 in 15 minutes off the bench. It's a strong start to Waters III's Warriors stay. He was traded to Golden State in the offseason after spending the first three seasons of his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Waters III has carved out a good role for himself in the league. He went undrafted by Oklahoma State in 2020. In 2021, he signed with the G League's OKC Blue. From then on, he spent most of the next three seasons on a two-way contract before being signed twice to a standard contract.

Waters III struggled to get playing time last season. He will get more chances to see action with the Warriors, who desperately need depth. After the game-winner went viral, several of Waters III's former Thunder teammates celebrated the 3-pointer on social media.

This shows how close the Thunder have been in recent years. Waters III was a locker room favorite despite his limited NBA action in his three years with OKC. He was a nice undrafted gem from the Thunder, who appeared to have developed an NBA player after struggling to get undrafted out of college.
